Abstract
Six patients were evaluated by intraoperative endoscopy of the hydatid cyst cavity for the diagnosis of cystobiliary communication. All patients had liver cysts at unfavourable locaüzation for visual inspection. A biliary communication had been demonstrated in none of the patients preoperatively, though three patients had jaundice either at admission or in their medical history. Five patients had infected hydatid cysts, while one patient had bile stained cyst contents. Intraoperative endoscopy revealed biliary communication in three patients and suggested biliary leakage in another one . The success rate of intraoperative endoscopic evaluation of the cyst cavity was %100. There were no complications.
