Abstract
The efficacies of hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy in the treatment of liver tumors were evaluated in 32 patients. A complete response was seen in three patients, a partial response in five, a minor response in four, and a stable disease in eight and a progressive disease in 12 patients. The response rate was 62.5% and estimated survival was 12.84 ± 2.01 months. The treatment was seen more efficient in patients with less than 50% liver involvement. Fatal toxicities were not seen in any of the patients. In only 7.3% of all cycles, Grade HI toxicities were developed. Hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy had demonstrated a successful palliation in patients with unrespectable liver carcinoma.
