Abstract

8 Patients with insulinoma who were operated in the Department of Surgery at Ankara University Medical School between 1986-1992 are evaluated retrospectively. The most frequent symptoms are sweating, fatigue and syncope. The most helpful biological diagnostic tests are plasma insulin level, 72 hours fasting test and C-Peptide supression. Radiological procedures are not found to be satisfactority helpful in localizing the tumor. The surgical procedures used are: Three enucleations and five blind distal pancreatectomy. There is no mortality nor recurrence.
