Abstract
In this case and surgical technique report, the place of the Highly Selective Vagotomy, its modifications and its laparoscopic applications were discussed along with the historical evaluation of elective surgical interventions for chronical duodenal ulcer disease. We aimed to explain the critical points of the Laparoscopic Posterior Truncas & Anterior Highly Selective Vagotomy by the videoprints. The decrease in the preoperative and 6th week postoperative BAO and MAO values were as below in our three cases, operated by this technique; 1st case: 42.8%, 51.4%, 2nd case: 35.2%, 42.1% and 3rd case; 53.3%, 59.3%, respectively. Mean operating time was 155 minutes, Endoscopic investigation revealed that the ulcers were completely healed in 1st and 3rd cases and 2nd case had a small residual ulcer. All cases with the longest follow-up period three months have been symptom free at the time of writing.
