Abstract
In between the years 1985-1989 159 liver injuries due to blunt abdominal trauma were admitted to the Emergency Surgical Unit of İstanbul Medical Faculty. 40 of these cases (%25) were major liver injuries and mortality was 4 times higher in major injuries than minor injuries, %60 and %15 respectively. In this report, we present our 5 years experience and recent advances in the treatment of liver injuries which may show serious problems.
