Abstract

A "posterior wall darn" repair on inguinal hernias was performed in 210 patients between 1989 - 1994, regardless of the hernia type. This series includes 38 recurrent (%18) and 172 primary hernias repairs. 13 patients had bilateral hernias. Excluding 17 patients, 193 patients (%92) have been followed up for an average of 29.4 months. There has been only one recurrence (%0.5) in 193 followed repairs.

Patients needed analgesia only in the first post-operative day. It is also noted that the patients ambulated quickly and easily.
