Abstract

Primary epiploic appendagitis (PEA) is a rare clinical entity. The patients are usually admitted to the emergency room with acute abdominal pain. It may mimic acute abdomen and causes unnecessary laparotomies. Most of the patients with PEA can be treated conservatively. We are presenting two patients diagnosed with PEA in this report. The patients presented with acute abdominal pain and findings of acute abdomen. The diagnosis was established with ultrasonography and computerized tomography. They were managed succesfully with conservative treatment. Surgery is indicated in case of unsuccesfull conservative therapy.
