Abstract
Intraabdominal accidentally-left instruments are rare cases. They are mostly surgical tampones and sponges. Patients can present with abdominal pain, nausea and/or vomiting. Abscess or fistula formation may be observed. This issue should be considered for all patients who have a laparoscopic or open surgical history. Radiopaque materials can easily be captured in an X-ray or a computed tomography. Since the accidentally-left materials may lead to complications with high mortality and morbidity, they should be immediately removed surgically. Laparoscopic or open surgery can be preferred by clinical evaluation. Here we present a case with an accidentally-left reverdin malleable that was diagnosed and operated one month later.
