Abstract

In this study, in vitro adhesion and chemotaxis of leucocytes have been searched in rabbits. Animals were divided in to three groups as control, sepsis and sepsis plus omeprazol. Chemotaxis was inhibited in the last group significantly but differences between adhesion percentages were nonsignificant. As a result H/K ATS'ase enzyme system has not only been seen in gastric parietal cells, but also in neutrophiles, and omeprazol might effect neutrophile leucocyte functions. That observation needs to be supported by randomised and double blind clinical trials.
