Abstract

In this study, factors affecting the hospital stay of colorectal cancer patients, which were treated with radical surgery are analyzed. 418 patients had been treated in the surgical clinic of Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty. In none of the patients there were metastases, found preoperatively and all of them underwent a curative treatment. Age, sex, admission hematocrit, surgical procedure, tumor stage, differentiation, blood transfusions, postoperative complications were analyzed and p<0.05 was determined as statistically signifıcant. As a result, age, sex surgical procedure, blood tansfusions, postoperative complications prolonged the hospital stay, where as admission hematocrit, tumor stage, differentiation had no effect on the hospital stay.
