Abstract

The treatment of soft tissues with magnetic fields was performed on 112 patients with purulent surgical infection. The criteria of performance assessment were taken to be endogenous intoxication, lipids peroxydic oxidation and clinical disease progress. The effects of constant and varying magnetic fields were seen to be quite different. It was found that the quickest and the most effective stabilization of the wounds was obtained with the application of a varying magnetic field, whose strength reached 40 mT. While its effects were observed to be somewhat less successful than those of a varying field, the application of constant strength magnetic fields yielded better results than routine treatment methods did.
