Abstract

Patient rights, os part of human rights, has been actual for many countries since 1970. The 1994 Amsterdam Patient Right Development followed the first document, the 1981 Lisbon Patient Rights Document. In some European countries, legal arrangement relating to patient rights have been accomplished by now and/or are under way, in our country, the situation is different. Medical associations are conducting studies relating to this matter. Patient rights must be considered by the physicians. Especially the concept of informing the patients about their diseases and taking consents must be stressed. Legal arrangements must be done for physicians to practice modern and qualified medicine, and for patient and physician associations to work cooperatively on this matter.
