Authors' Guidelines for Submitting Video Articles
Please read the following instructions carefully before submitting an article with video and audio files.
A-File properties
1-Maximum file size
300 MB (note that the combined files for a post, including video, audio, tables, figures and text, should not exceed 350 MB)
2-File type
Video: MP4, MKV, MOV, AVI, FLV, MPEG-2 TS, MPEG-2 PS, MXF, LXF, GXF, 3GP, WebM, MPG, QuickTime
Audio: MP3
3-Aspect ratio
16:9 (video only)
4-Maximum time
Maximum length is 5 minutes.
5-File name format
For example: totalmesorectalexcision_video1.mp4
B-Media information
1-Title
If there is more than one video It should contain "video" followed by sequential numbers. Ex. "Video 1".
2-Subtitle
A subtitle with a short description of the video should be added.
3-Motionless picture
Before the video plays, a separate "motionless" image from the video will be displayed in the HTML version of the article. This will also be used in the PDF version of the article.
4-Alternative text
Text to appear instead of media player when media cannot be displayed
Notes
*As with figures and tables, all videos should be cited in the text of the article by title (for example, “video 1”).
*Video files must be submitted at the time of submission, along with the article itself, transcript and other files.
*Authors are strictly prohibited from posting videos without patients permission.
Participant Consent: It is the responsibility of the respective author to obtain informed consent from any identifiable participant in the video files. It is not enough to cover the eyes or face of the participants. Please ensure that a consent form is provided for each participant
