Abstract

Cross-clamping and declamplng of infrarenal abdominal aorta creates a series of acute hemodynamic changes. We recorded these hemodynamic changes during damping and declamping periods in experimental dogs which have not gone under any resuscitative procedure, in order to observe the "real" hemodynamic changes taking place. We observed a severe depression especially in the myocardial functions. Fluid loading by observing pulmonary wedge pressure is a convenient way in order to minimize these hemodynamic changes.
