Abstract

615 patients with malignant melanoma were evaluated retrospecthrety who were treated between 1972-1988. 113 of them Stage I-III (AJCC 1983) were treated with wide local exsicion and regional lymph node dissection but 80 patients could be followed up in this group. For determining the prognostic factors primary lesion of 43 of those patients were evaluated again. Statistical analysis were made by simple and multifactorial regression. With simple regression, mitotic rate, depth of invasion, regional node metastasis and stage according to TNM were found to be significant factors for prognosis. Regional node metastasis and stage (TNM) were determined as the most effective factors influencing the survival
